Shri LV Krishnan: Distinguished member of C3S, Former Director – Safety Research Group, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu,India |
Shri LV Krishnan was popularly referred to as Mr. LVK in the C3S circle, a man driven by an insatiable hunger for knowledge and a profound curiosity for the world around him.
His spirit, truly, transcended the limitations of age, and he was living proof that age is merely a number when it comes to the pursuit of learning.
We fondly recall his infectious passion for science and international affairs, a dedication that enriched our lives and broadened our perspectives. His love for languages was equally impressive, a testament to his vibrant intellect and unending drive. He embraced the challenge of learning Chinese, even in his advanced years, and even took the HSK examination, proving his commitment to personal growth and self-improvement.
Beyond his intellectual prowess, he possessed a deep well of kindness and love towards C3S. He has financially supported C3S at all times of need.
He has been the brain behind all of C3S’s S&T conferences, from suggesting session themes, topics, identifying resource persons, he was always there!
His humility and open-mindedness were truly inspiring, always welcoming the insights of young research officers and interns, fostering an environment where ideas flourished and talent was nurtured. His nuanced perspectives, patience, kindness, and encouragement were a constant source of inspiration, particularly to those starting their journeys.
And who can forget that smile? A warm, genuine smile that could instantly brighten any room and uplift every spirit.
Some cherished memories with Sir,
When I was getting his consent to be part of a young researchers’ forum, he remarked: “Thanks. There is much to learn from the younger lot”
On another occasion, I asked him for his photo for a conference, which he sent. He commented: “as the saying goes, my face, I do not mind it because I am behind it”
He was a shining example of what it means to live a life fueled by purpose, passion, and an unwavering belief in the power of knowledge and human connection. He will forever be a blessing, inspiring us to embrace learning, kindness, and a life lived to its fullest potential.
With loads of memories and heavy heart,
Sruthi Sadhasivam, former research officer at C3S and a fond admirer of Shri. LVK
