Greetings and good wishes from Chennai Centre for China Studies (C3S)!

C3S is launching Young Minds of C3S, an initiative to bring together the youth of Chennai and elsewhere to obtain and share ideas on China’s internal dynamics and its international relations. Please see the link ‘Young Minds of C3S’- Call for Membership for details.

We cordially invite you to the Inaugural Meeting of Young Minds of C3S on October 8, 2016 (Saturday) at 11 a.m. It will be held at C3S (Athena Infonomics building), No. 15 Arcot Street, T. Nagar, Chennai- 600017 (Landmark: Diagonally opposite MGR Memorial House). Please find below the event programme:

11:00- Brief introduction of Young Minds and Welcome Speech by Asma Masood, Research Officer, C3S.

11:05- Talk by Cmde. Vasan, Director, C3S

11:15- Talk by Kirthi Jayakumar, Founder, Red Elephant Foundation & Award-winning United Nations Volunteer

11:30- Interactive brainstorming session on road-map for Young Minds.

12:00- Call to members to actively participate in future sessions and online Google group discussions, by C3S intern.

12:05- Vote of thanks by Raakhee Suryaprakash, Associate Member, C3S.

12.10-Tea

Profile of Ms. Kirthi: 

kirthi-jayakumar

Kirthi Jayakumar is an activist, writer and artist based out of Chennai, India. She founded and runs the Red Elephant Foundation, a civilian peacebuilding initiative working for gender equality through storytelling. She is also the author of two books (fiction) called The Dove’s Lament and Stories of Hope, and the author of three non-fiction books centred around gender, peace and international law. Kirthi is the recipient of the US Presidential Services Award (gold, silver and bronze) from President Barack Obama. Her interest and experience over all lie in Afghanistan, the Middle East, DR Congo and South-Asia.
