During the Executive committee meeting of C3S held on 01 September at Chennai, it was unanimously decided that Commdore RS Vasan IN Retd is to take over as the Director. He has since assumed the duties of Director C3S with effect from 05th September 2014 from Mr. D.S.Rajan who is the founding director since 2008. The message from the New Director is appended below.
Esteemed friend,
I have accepted this challenging task with all humility and would like to inform you that I have taken over the duties with effect from 05 September 2014. I will continue to also hold the post of Head, Strategy& Security Studies, Center for Asia Studies, Director Asian Secretariat of the World Borderpol, Director Board of Advisory Group, Stella Maris College and Department of Defence and Strategic Studies at the Madras University.
Mr DS Rajan who has rendered yeoman service as the Founder Director of C3S (whose expertise and experience can not be replaced) will continue to be associated with the C3S as a member and in advisory capacity. On behalf of all the members I would like to place on record our greatest appreciation for the immense contribution of Mr Rajan in nurturing the think tank from its inception to making what it is today. On most occasions through the past years, he continued to work despite his health conditions and in some very trying conditions. He is required to attend to his health on priority though he will continue to support C3S in future .
I keenly look forward to continued support and guidance from all of you who have been steadfast in your support to the think tank which has contributed to better understanding of China in the Asian Century. Your invaluable suggestions to make us perform even better are most welcome.
